Andrew Harrington - President Andrew is a second generation builder and has been on his own in the renovation business since the early 1990’s. Formerly a trader on the AMEX, by his early twenties Andrew had constructed over $1 million of brownstone work. He founded Manhattan Renovations in 2000 to realize his dream of providing hassle-free, high-quality construction services in Manhattan.
In addition to being the company’s founder and leader, Andrew personally manages the company’s client relationships, oversees field operations, and is in charge of all contracting and dispute resolution.
Alla Akimova, NCIDQ (ARCHIVES id) – Quality Executive
Born in Russia, Alla came to the U.S. in 1999 to pursue a career in design. In 2002, Alla received her Bachelors of Fine Arts (Interior Design) from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She now runs ARCHIVES id, a fully-integrated design and interior decorating company.
Alla is contracted to Manhattan Renovations to provide design services on our design-build contracts, and oversee the company’s activities during the design phase on all projects. As such, Alla serves as the company’s lead project quality control manager.
She is certified by NCIDQ and has a New York State license in interior design. She is also a professional
member of the ASID and an allied member of the AIA
Angela Massio - General Manager
Born and raised in New York City, Angela attended Iona College in Rochelle, NY from which she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. Angela has extensive experience managing back-office operations, having worked in a number of different administrative capacities for over 19 years.
Angela’s responsibilities include bookkeeping, payroll, scheduling and logistics, and serving as the company’s liaison with building boards and management companies.
Joan Dougherty - Assistant Manager
Joan has over fifteen years’ experience in the residential design and construction industries. Formerly Manhattan Renovation’s full time office manager, she now personally assists with managing client, vendor, and sub-contractor relationships and communication.
Maruisz Cwalina - Field Operations
Maruisz has over fifteen years experience in residential and commercial construction. Before joining Manhattan Renovations, Maruisz owned and operated his own general contracting company in Manhattan. He is expert in multiple trades and has a complete understanding and a long track record implementing the installation and construction of all CSI construction divisions.
Maruisz personally oversees on-site project operations, supervising all trades and subcontractors.
Bogdan Ludjan (Conex Interiors) – Project Manager
Bogdan emigrated to the United States in 1994 from Poland and now lives in Astoria, NY. He attended John Jay College, where he majored in criminal justice. Since 2001, he has owned and operated Conex Interiors, a residential renovation company executing projects throughout the five boroughs of New York City. In addition to contracting, Bogdan also owns and operates a custom cabinet shop and self-performs much of his own millwork.
Bogdan has been on contract to Manhattan Renovations since 2004 to oversee operations in the field and supervise all trades and subcontractors.
